What Mom Gave To Me

In a word Mom was selfless when it came to her children, grand children, great grand children and all of her adopted children she baby sat. She never had to tell us that she loved us she simply did and we all knew it. At so many times in my life Mom not only loved me but she gave me the ability to see my dreams by believing in my dreams more than I could at the time. She always believed that all things were possible. When I wanted to buy a car at the age of 16, Mom told me to speak with Dad. Dad quickly put a fine point on how one buys cars and told me to get a job and save my money, then he would be happy to help me pick out a car. I was deflated and went back to Mom and without a moments hesitation said she would help. She wasn't offering me money, she offered me more than that, she offered me hope. Within a week I had a job and saved enough to buy my first car within 3 months. Mom gave me the exact same confidence when I told her I wanted to go to college, she didn't know how we were going to get things done she just knew that we would and we did. We were a team. I love you Mom and always lean on the lessons you tried to teach me. I think of you every time I hold the door open for someone, you really had to drill that lesson into me.
